Dear All,
I hope you and all your loved ones are well and managing to stay calm amidst the chaos and worry.
We are continuing with our services as normal yet taking lots of extra precautions.
- We are using our own leads.
- Using our own dog towels.
- Washing hands upon entry to every home.
- Carrying anti-bacterial gel and hibiscrub to clean our hands frequently.
- Only refilling water if the owner isn’t home and it is low otherwise, we aren’t touching them.
- Keeping the recommended 2 metres distance from other clients, each other and other people out walking their dogs.
- We will be wearing masks in homes where our clients are classed as vulnerable and high risk.
- Not walking any dogs or caring for any pets where a family member has contracted corona virus.
- As a team we are social distancing so not to put ourselves at risk bearing in mind we are going into people’s home.
- Not touching our face, mouths or nose and if we do, washing our hands straight after before touching anything else.
Please do not worry about being polite and coming to say hi, we are happy for you to go to another room when we come in. We also won’t be offended if you just want to open the door and we can take you pet quickly, or if you have side access to your garden, we can collect your dog from there.
Please would you get your dog ready for a walk if they wear a harness prior to our arrival so we spend as little time in your home as possible.
We would like to reassure you by sharing that the World Health Organisation (WHO) issued updated information on Thursday 13th March saying “At present there is no evidence that companion animals/pets such as dogs or cats can spread coronavirus or indeed be infected with it in the same way as humans.”
As you can see, we are doing everything we can. Many of you we have know for years and you have all been amazing loyal clients. This is an incredibly difficult time for us being a small business where if we don’t have work, we don’t get paid. We appreciate that some of you will be in a similar boat however we would like to make a plea to you as our loyal client to help us. We understand that if you are working from home that you feel you may not need us however we would like to ask that if you are still receiving your regular wage to use our services, even if not the usual set up we had prior to all this. We want to survive and still be here and be able to offer you our services once all this madness is over.
Animals too pick up on stress and change so to keep them in their regular routine would benefit them as well. We would also suggest that if you are working from home that you don’t allow your dog to be in the same room as you all the time otherwise when the time comes to go back to work they may end up with separation anxiety. Fill up a Kong or something similar for them to settle in another room to you.
We would like to offer to help any of you in self isolation and that don’t have any family or friends locally for whatever reason and may need some basic groceries dropped to your door. This isn’t a paid service; we would just like to help.
Also, if you have any elderly neighbours in self isolation that have pets, we are offering reduced rate walks.
With best regards
Polly
